Nelson is an 11 month old male English Springer Spaniel cross Pug. At only 11-months-old, poor Nelson has already been let down once and we do not want it to happen again. Nelson is a victim of the lockdown, bought last year and due to his behaviour found himself looking for a new home before he even reached his first birthday.
Nelson is a great dog and after spending some time in a specialist, experienced foster home undergoing assessment, we know he can be a fantastic companion, to someone with the right temperament for him.

Nelson has issues around safe-guarding issues and has gotten quite aggressive, he also struggles with separation anxiety, so he needs a family who has experience with these issues. He thrived in the assessment foster home, adapting quickly, and showing everyone what a wonderful young man he is, once in the right environment. He enjoys the learning being keen to learn and responded well to having boundaries and lots of positive praise. Apart from his issues, Nelson is a lovely and very clever boy, he loves attention, walks on lead and a fuss.
It is essential that Nelson’s new home is with people who are extremely confident, calm, clear, positive willing to listen to advice and follow training. WAW will provide support for his new owners.
Nelson needs balance, in a home with people who will not be demanding things from him, or pander or show fear to his naughty ‘guarding’ behaviour. He has thrived with when he gets the consistent treatment which is calm, firm, positive, clear, and simple.
